Here's something I saw somewhere on the net, and don't know where! I saved it in my favorites, but managed to only save the photo, not the site.

I used a worn paperback book and tore some pages out to cut into about half inch strips. I folded the strips and stapled sets of them together, then hot glued them into a blossom shape. I glued on red tinsel, an old rhinestone earring and a silver pipe cleaner for hanging.
