Valentines Day Baskets?

Ideas please, I'd love to put some cute baskets in my booth at the antique mall, done in a victorian vintage valentine theme.

But do people buy baskets for valentines day? I dont know why but when the idea first came to me, it seemed reasonable and now I'm not so sure now that it would work.

I have a variety of different shaped wicker baskets, that I intended to spray paint. and my niece is coming over to help make bows, (she's really talented in this area).

Any help thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

here is ONE basket style that I have to work with, it's a hot pink fushia color, very simple

I dont make these baskets, but I think you wouldnt need to paint all your baskets, as most would go okay for valentines day, and could be used for other crafts, a light coat of white spray paint could tone down the color of a basket if you didnt like it, could even use the white glue crackle ( check out the decorating paint fourm for more info its on the frist page )I would think the hot pink would go for teens.
I think they would make a beautiful gifts! you could do a google image search and see some beautifull ones for ideas

these (hot pink ) baskets would not be painted, I had a bunch of other wicker baskets that I painted red and pink. and a few I did aqua just for something different.

Still no ideas from here?

I have googled images, but was hoping for some home made content ideas.

I think you could try a few, but I probably wouldn't make too many. A gift basket is something you can buy just about anywhere. Unless yours are unique or the Antique Mall gets a lot of traffic, you might get stuck with several at the end. I could be wrong, but that's just my perception after shopping at places like Antique malls.

The are some basket ideas posted in the link below. I also came across a really cute basket of live plants. Ihis may not be something that is possible for you to have in your space. Yes, adellabedella, that is what I have concluded. I will make up just the baskets, decorated with ribbons/bows etc. and sell those. I may make up one or two, depending. but decided against making many for the very reason you stated. I dont want to be stuck with them. I also did consider (and have decorated) some small clay pots and purchased some live plants to go in them. If these dont sell, I will keep the plants, so that's no big deal..

here's one simple little thing that my niece put together, which we will continue with.

canvas tote (mini sized) felt heart and foam stick on heart in the middle, curling ribbon.
