My dear brother gave me an All Clad nonstick grill pan for Christmas, but I'm not sure it will work on my Dacor electric smoothtop. The bottom of the pan has ridges. He thinks that won't matter as long as the pan sits level. I don't want to use it if it isn't going to work correctly. Can anyone advise me about this? Thanks!

The not flat bottom is what has prevented me from getting the All Clad grill. If it is exchangable, I would look for a Staub, LeCruset or other SS with a disc flat bottom to be sure.

I have two All-Clad grill pans that I used to use all the time back in the wonderful days when I had a gas stove. Now they are gathering dust because they won't work on the %^($@& smoothtop stove that came with the house. They don't work because they are 14" in diameter and the biggest of the so-called burners is too small to accomodate them.
