Interesting Tramontina tri-ply Induction Info

We have a new induction cooktop at our house. After reading this forum about the value of Tramontina tri-ply, I took a trip to a Walmart yesterday, equipped with a magnet, to see if these pots are induction capable.

Most of them were not. But their 12" skillets and most of their 4 quart sauce pans were. Interestingly, not all 4 quart sauce pans stuck to the magnet. One or two pieces that looked like they were slightly differently packaged (but same SKU) didn't stick to the magnet.

Then I opened up their 8 piece set. Some pieces in them stuck to the magnet and some didn't. Go figure!

btw, nowhere does the manufacturer claim that their tri-ply (at least the ones sold in Walmart) are induction capable.

eat your veggies: I have bought all my pots and pans at places like T J Maxx and Marshalls. I have a De Deitrich induction for over a year now, love it!
