cleaning the bottom of a skillet

Hi, My hubby bought me a kenmore skillet last christmas, I think the man paid 60.00 for it... way to much, but what does he know? lol
the problem is the bottom has turned black and brown, How do I clean it?

| Scrape it gently with a razor scraper. |
