Vita Mix 3600

I have the Vita Mix 3600. I need to replace the blade assembly but I can not remove the large retaining nut. It seems that at one time they sold a wrench for this but it is no longer available. I am able to grab it by using a table vise sideways but the assembly merely spins. Has anyone performed this repair?
