Does anyone have an old fashioned aluminum bun warmer used on top of the stove? Do you remember how to bake potatoes in it? How long, how high a flame? Thanks.

I remember my mother's aluminum bun warmer, and I recall her baking potatoes in it, but I have no idea how she did it. Sure brings back memories, though.

These are sold as item 44679 for 25 bucks (U.S.) by Vermont Country Store at 802 362-8440 (also online). Good-Luck, NYOW

Gosh, I cook my potatoes in the microwave; in four minutes you have a fluffy baked potato -- or *potatoe* in parts of Indiana.

ChiSue - I'll do them in the mic too when I run myself out of time but I really like the way the skin crisps up when I do them in the oven better. To me, that is the best part of a baked potato(e). Never seen the bun warmers (that I know of) Have to go look at the Vermont Country Store site. Ken
