I have some Paderno Pots ( Pots from Eternity line). The bottoms have solid aluminum with concentric ridged rings. I am having trouble cleaning in between the ridges. There are either brown discoloured or brown soiled areas on the bottoms. I was told to use an oven cleaner, but when I read Easy Off directions it says not to use on aluminum. I have tried aluminum cleaner and also an SOS pad and nothing touches the brown. Help!!

Rave reviews for this stuff over at eGullet. Downside: It runs around 18 bucks a can (as seen at my local restaurant supply)...

joe_blowe, Could you tell me what page# on eGullet the message is? I tried to do a search and couldn't find anything. Also went up to page 9 and still didn't find anything. Looks like a very interesting site.

Just click on this stuff (underlined) in his email, not the E_Gullet.

I have the large frying/sautaying pan with transparent lid, which I love, purchased in Vancouver fromm the Newfoundland firm called Paderno. After about 2 yrs. usage, being careful about cleaning the bottom, it has begun to shed black granules when cleaned. Presumably this is the black finish - and I presume also that the granules should not shed into the food being cooked. Opinion please?
