Grill Pans which one? All Clad or Calphalon

Posted by mtl55 (My Page) on

Undecided between the square calphalon infused anodized grill pan or the All Clad stainless round non-stick grill pan.

I was told that the Calphalon will smoke when cooking thicker steaks - it looses the heat so you must maintain a high flame and it will smoke a lot. While the All Clad maintains the heat and won't smoke.

Has anyone experienced this. Please advice

thanks,

I have the Calphalon, with the press and I like it. It does what I need it to do, I don't notice a problem with heat loss. I do heat up the press and put that on top when I do use it. The price was good and it cleans up well, and it cooks my food, can't ask for much more than that.
