I have the Staub piece that actually looks like a chicken (for reference, in grenadine {{gwi:1471129}}) and the lid does not wobble. Also a 4 qt. round one without wobble. I have heard that Staub's quality control is an issue and some lids are not properly tight-fitting. The beauty of Staub/Le Creuset-type pots is the thickness and tight fit that, together, allow for slow cooking without scorching and burning. If the lid does not fit properly, by all means, return the pot!

I received a replacement today from Amazon and the lid fits properly so I'm glad I returned the first one.
