Which older Bosch Mixer will work for me?

Posted by thegratefulgardener (My Page) on

I'm set on getting a Bosch mixer, and I've been watching them on ebay for about a month. I really want to have a stainless steel bowl that can accommodate both the dough hooks AND the wire whips. I don't want to use the plastic bowl at all. I see there are two stainless steel designs - one with the column in the center and one with the flat bottom. Are they both convertible for use with the whips? Which Bosch mixer model/type do I need to watch for to get one with an all-purpose stainless steel bowl?

Thank you!

You may want to go over to the cooking forum to get an answer. Several people over there have Bosch mixers and are more than willing to help.

The flat-bottomed bowl will not work with the whips. You can find the donut-shaped bowl in stainless for any of the mixers. Note that the center column of the stainless donut-shaped bowl is plastic.
