Pot rack near ceiling fan?

I'm running out of cabinet storage for my pans and would like to move some to a single bar ceiling mounted pot rack.

My dilemma is that there's only one logical place to put it, at the end of our island. We've got no walls, nowhere else, really. My fan will also hang there, centered on the island.

There is physically and visually enough room for both, but my Dude thinks the pans will rattle and clank when the fan is blowing, which is frequently. We're not talking lightweight stuff, but cast iron, carbon steel and clad stainless fry pans. These are pretty heavy, with the lightest being about 2 pounds.

Does anyone have experience with a fan and pot rack in the same kitchen? How'd it work out?

I have both a ceiling fan and a pot rack in my kitchen. They are roughly 3 feet apart. I put my pot rack next to the stove for easy access. Just have to reach up for my most frequently used pots and pans. There is no movement when the fan in on. Even on it's highest spin level. We keep Cast iron, SS, Copper, and non-stick pans on the rack. They do fine there, not rattling. NancyLouise

Thanks for confirming that it works. I was pretty sure it would be fine.

I got a suggestion on the kitchen forum to set up a test with a couple of ladders, a broom and some 'S' hooks. Such an easy way to convince the Dude that it will work.
