Most boxes of brownies, recipes etc. say "in a 9x9" pan. Well I lost mine somewhere and now can only find
8x8's.
When did that happen? Should I buy one and just use it like a 9 x 9?

RE: 9 x 9 pan - can't find, only 8 x 8 What's up with that?
Bought one at Williams-Sonoma before Thanksgiving. I had to do it, because I couldn't find one anywhere else and needed it right away. It was the last one they had at that store that week.

marys1000, I switched to metal baking pans (not nonstick) after reading some horror stories about Pyrex exploding. I didn't dump my Pyrex, and I still use them occasionally, but I really like the metal pans.
IIRC, many recipes suggest adjusting the baking temperature if using glass, something I don't have to worry about with the metal.
I spray my pans with that cooking spray that's specifically for baking (I think it's an oil/flour combo?), and I've never had a problem with sticking. I use the same brand of cookie sheets, with parchment paper or spray.
