Help needed with PW cinnamon rolls!

I just started to make Pioneer Woman's cinnamon rolls for the first time and am really stumped. I followed the recipe exactly and am at the point just after the first hour long rise. It is supposed to be ready to make rolls or chill and the dough is the consistency of a really thick pancake batter-no way I would be able to make rolls out of it without the addition of lots of flour. It surely doesn't thicken that much from being refrigerated, does it? Can anyone who uses this recipe shed any light on what is happening?
