Rye Bread - a happy medium?

My husband really like pumpernickel bread. I'm not a big fan of it. I did like a rye bread that my Dad used to buy at a bakery a thousand years ago. The bakery is long since gone.

I'm also not a big fan of caraway seeds (I don't care for the licorice flavor).

DH does like rye bread. So, I'm going to attempt to make rye bread. I was thinking of replacing some of the caraway seeds with either flax seed, dill seed or celery seed. Do you think this will work? Any beloved recipes you're will to part with?
