Surcie from Annie!!

Yesterday I had a package waiting for me on my doorstep when I got home - it contained a quart bottle of Michigan maple syrup, no grade!! I'm not sure what the "no grade" means, but I think it is a mixture of grades A and B. I had to open it and taste it right away! It had a bit of froth on top, probably from being jiggled in shipping, and the flavor was very smooth and creamy - almost buttery. It came from Dodd's Sugar Shack in Niles, MI. Annie said that it is from one of her Amish friends. Anyway, I really, really like it and even more so because it came from Annie and that she was thinking of me at this time.

Thanks so much for your thoughtfulness, Annie!!

Lars

Annie, That is a very nice gift. Niles is just about a half hour from where we live. I'm not familar with the farm but the maple syrup in our area is really, really good. We buy from an Alternative School just down the road from us. They have a sugar shack right on the school's property and the profits go to the school and the students that make it.

How very nice of you Annie, and you know Lars will enjoy it and use it well.
