Fudge incapable! Help?

Last year I sugared every batch of traditional fudge I attempted, not realizing that being a mile high in elevation mattered to fudge. This year I've researched and discovered the temperature adjustments to make and promptly left my brain in bed and added the butter from the start. How badly destroyed is it this time? Do I have only a fancy ganache now? *sob* my poor fudge-deprived family...
