Comments (10)I found the bottom layer! I bought some Lorna Doones and slathered on the choco-cheese. Wow! There is no sour taste--just creamy chocolate and the still-too-sweet cookie. Too sweet and chocolate? I can deal with that easily. However, I don't think I will allow myself to buy these ingredients again because I am certain they are terrible for my cholesterol and blood sugar. Comments (6)Bread machine (instant yeast) doesn't need to be proofed with warm water or milk before mixing. You can just put it in with the flour and let it sit for 30 seconds or so, then add the liquid ingredients and mix. I find it easier to use. That's how bread machines mix ingredients, hence the name. I buy bulk packages of it now at Sam's Club and keep it in the freezer, that way I'm always ready for a Danish emergency. You'll find they come up a lot in the winter. Comments (3)chi, I make them for Amanda every year and I don't add brandy at all. I sometimes use my home canned brandied cherries and sometimes I just use maraschino cherries with no alcohol. It still comes out fine and is Amanda's favorite holiday treat. If I had to choose, I'd go with the Irish Cream or the southern Comfort, although I think Amaretto would be good if you have some.
