Christmas wouldn't be christmas without any "Party Mix"!!! I use the traditional recipe. Mixed nuts,Pretzel nubbies, 3 kinds of chex, Worcestershire sauce, butter and Adolph's seasoned salt. We LOVE it!

Here is the one I make...

Nuts & Bolts

1 lb butter
2 TBSP Lea and Perrin Worcestershire sauce
1 TBSP garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp celery salt
1 1/2 tsp onion salt
4 cups cherrios
4 cups shreddies or Wheat chex
4 cups Life cereal
2 boxes pretzels
2 cups salted peanuts
1 box Bugles
1 box Cheese Nips or Cheese Bites

Heat oven to 250. Place butter and Worcsetershire in very large roaster and put in the oven to melt the butter while oven is preheating. Add all the rest of the ingredients and stir well to coat evenly with the butter. Bake for 1 1/2 hours, stir every 1/2 hour

I add Goldfish and Goldfish pretzels (instead of the pretzel stix) and mixed nuts instead of just peanuts. I also increase the worcestershire and add a healthy splash of hot sauce. And garlic bagel chips.

I make it every Sunday during football season!

My aunt gave mom this recipe years ago and now it wouldn't be Christmas without it.

PARTY MIX

1 box wheat chex
1 box rice chex
1 pkg. stick pretzels, broken into thirds
2 lbs. mixed nuts
3 sticks butter
1 Tbsp. beau monde
1 tsp. summer savory
1 Tsp. hickory salt*
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. marjoram
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1-1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Layer cereal, pretzels and nuts. Mix spices together and sprinkle over the top. Dot with 1 stick butter. Bake at 250 degrees, turning every 15 minutes for 1 hour. After 30 minutes, dot with the other stick of butter.
*McCormicks stopped selling the hickory salt. I had to order it on-line. (It does add to the flavor.)

Oh my gosh...my arteries are slamming shut just looking at these yummy recipes! I'll be sure NOT to have my cholesterol checked until, oh, say around April :)
Chase, at first I thought there was a typo with a pound of butter. But then with all the additions well, I see why. I bet it's tasty.

I like to add thin pretzel sticks, peanuts and Bugle snacks to my mix. I am big salty lover and this makes it extra salty. I also make a double batch at a time and make extra of the seasoning with butter to give it lots of flavor.

I add unsalted mini pretzels, unsalted peanuts and white cheddar Cheese-Its.

I use Crispix cereal and add Funyuns to mine.

White Trash

3 cups chex type cereal
3 cups cheerios type cereal
2 cups salted Peanuts

1-1/4 pounds White Dipping Chocolate or white chocolate (melted)
. . Mix first 3 ingredients. Pour melted white chocolate over
mixture-toss to coat. Spread into waxed paper and cool. Break up clumps.

Couple more easy ones:

Drizzle melted semisweet chocolate over ridged potato chips.

Combine buttered popcorn with salted peanuts then toss with melted caramel & melted milk chocolate.

Yet one more option.... The packets of Chex Party Mix Seasoning Mix are free (or cheap) at the grocery store right now, with the purchase of a box of Chex cereal. Follow the recipe on the back. If you don't want 1-cup garlic-flavor bite-size bagel chips, just substitute 1 cup of something else like Cheerioes, Gold Fish crackers, chow mein noodles, or a plethora of other yummy choices. Same goes for the Chex choices. If you don't like Wheat Chex, use either corn or rice instead.

After you've made one batch, you'll quickly figure out how to change it to your personal likes and dislikes.

My friend makes the usual recipe but adds slices of jalapeno peppers. It gives just the right amount of zip.

There are three party mixes I really like.
One is a bowl of Cheet-oh's
One is a bowl of potato chips
One is a bowl of nuts
Never mixed in the same bowl and never a pretzel, chex, crunchy little O in sight LOL

To each his own. . . I like Chex Mix with some heat, so I add a healthy dab of chili powder, cayenne powder and pretty much double/tripple the regular seasoning recipes. I don't really like it with crackers or cheese flavors. I use the mini pretzels, cheerios, corn and rice checks, and always salted peanuts. (Although many years ago our then neighbor ladies made THE BEST!! mix with lots of whole pecans, very hot and spicy.) I usually only mix it up during the Christmas holidays and make enough to do it in my electric roaster. It makes a handy gift have on hand and is always welcome at any gathering!
