Leftover butter cookies

peony4

OK, they aren't "leftover," but I can't imagine eating the 300+ Danish butter cookies in the giant tin sent home with us from the office holiday party.

I'm not a fan of desserts, but don't want to toss these like I have in past years. Does anyone have ideas how to use these? My initial ideas:

1. Crush and store in freezer, like sweet bread crumbs.
2. Crush and mix with oats and butter for a fruit crumble topping.
3. Freeze, then thaw for future gatherings, decorating with icing, etc., to fit occasion. (I figure they'll be usable for Valentine's and perhaps Easter, as well.)
4. Crush and mix with butter, then press into pan like a graham cracker crust.

Any other suggestions?
