We are having a couple of parties this weekend--one will involve kids and adults, the other, college students and adults. The planned items are:
artichoke dip, crackers
spinach/phyllo triangles
creamed mushroom triangles (also phyllo)
blue cheese cookies (they have more cheddar than blue)
fruitcake (I love it, anyway! done))
banana bread (done)
lace cookies
nut crescent cookies
blueberry pound cake (CookingLight, easy)
coconut cake for one of the parties (this is a 4-hour affair, but to die for)
baklava (presently in oven)
I want to do cupcakes, perhaps three sorts. What are your favorite cupcake recipes? I will decorate them. I've been eyeing a key lime cupcake recipe from one of my cooking mags, not sure which.
Thank you for your recipes! This is a bunch of terrific bakers, so I know you'll have great ideas.

Almost any cake, but for those that include a "poke holes" type of glaze can be made in cup cake tins....be creative!
Rum cake...applesauce spice...chocolate cake of any sort..
Wow! You are cooking up a storm!! Sounds like a great party!

I made vegan pumpkin cupcakes with "cream cheese" frosting for Thanksgiving. They went over well. I had never dabbled much in vegan cooking before this past Thanksgiving.

Dirt cup cakes for the kids! Your choice of cake and icing, cover icing with very thick layer of pulverized oreos. Looks like potting soil. Put gummy worms on top and/or insert little stick flowers. We did it with chocolate cake and chocolate cream cheese frosting, SO GOOD and fun!
