I know most of you are busy fussing with the last details of your special day tomorrow. Whether you are hosting or being hosted , I know what a special holiday this is for all of you..and wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving.and a Happy Chanukah too !

Some of the names may change, but the level of enthusiasm remains the same! And even though a few of us may come and go from time to time, as life issues changes, we never forget... Happy Thanksgiving... I'm so grateful for the wonderful people here who have helped me, from my humble beginnings with one Minerva, through a collection that grew... often through the help of friends. I'm thankful for so much generosity, so much friendship, and I offer my best wishes to all of you and your families for a wonderful Holiday Season filled with love, joy, and hope for another year of happiness and wealth of human spirit. Hi Jeff and everyone. David and I find this day has been full of blessings to each of us. Our daughter Laura and our granddaughter Emma Grace,who is now 3 months old, were here. Our son, Douglas, his wife, Lynn and our grandson Hunter,who's now 16 months old, were here. This is now our family. I lost my parents years ago and David's Mom and Dad died in the last 2 years. With the passing of David's Mom this past year,it did seem lonesome and a very small gathering, but so full of love for the new little ones that have recently came into our lives. I have heard all my life that noone can explain the love you will feel for your grandchildren and now I know that feeling. God gave us these blessings when I needed them the most. God in all his Glory alone knows what our lives will be and he is merciful to us all when we open our eyes and let in his love and blessings. Blessings sometimes small but always glorious in his love. I hope that each of you will see your blessings this special day of Thanksgiving. My love goes out to all my special friends from Tennessee. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Like Bee, I am glad to have found GW 10 years ago. It seems like yesterday! My daughter-in-laws father works for Ameren in Illinois and just returned from working on the east coast. I prayed for his safety daily and for those who are victims of Sandy. We are blessed with a wonderful family and our extended family of friends. This holiday season, keep the less fortunate in your thoughts and prayers. My children are in education and they share about so many children and families that need assistance. There are families living in domestic violence shelters that operate on limited budgets. The lost generation, the elderly, with no family or visitors. The Salvation Army, local food pantries, churches, youth facilities - they all need assistance. It is not only money, but also time. Five minutes with an elderly person lifts their spirits. Last Sunday we shared in a Thanksgiving meal at my MILs assisted living home. There was a woman I thought was someone from my childhood. I asked the workers her name and it was my childhood friendly lady. I thought she had passed years earlier. I knocked on her door and we had a delightful chat. She asked no less than 3 times my name and when I told her, she lit up. She shared stories about my mother who died in 1980. Our chat meant as much to me as it did to her. Have a blessed season.

Thank you.

We are off tomorrow morning - over the river and through the woods to my son's home in the mountains of western Virginia. It snowed there today and it's going to be COLD.

The whole family will be there, should be fun.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

We had our meal yesterday (roast duck and roast chicken with the usual side dishes mom cooks) and it was just my parents and I, but the food was good. Eat hearty everyone!

Our Thanksgiving is very different this year. We're home today for the first time in ages, and Jerry is cooking the dinner! (he's feeling a little better.) He insisted he wanted to do it. Lucky me!
