want to make gluten free red velvet cake

I want to make a gf red velvet cake that is as close to my traditional family recipe as possible. I don't have all the various gf flours, just Jules gf flour. It is nearly all starch, so I know it would rise just fine. I don't know if it would taste better with another flour blend. The local grocery also carries a few other gf flour blends. King Arthur is one, I don't remember the other brands. I'm not sure I want to invest in a lot of individual flours at the moment. Anyway, this is what I'm considering.

Make family recipe using 100% Jules

Use a Betty Crocker g-f white cake mix. I've worked out the changes to adapt to my recipe.

Make family from recipe, using half & half Jules, and another blend; or 100% other blend.

Say the heck with it, and bake regular version!

* Here's the ingredient list for Jules gf flour - Expandex Modified Tapioca Starch, potato starch, corn starch, corn flour, white rice flour, xanthan gum.
