Almost done!

Just took out the Amish Wheat loaves and have them cooling; upped the oven temp and put in the Multigrain loaves (including one baby loaf for me); the pepperoni rolls are rising -- I got 20 out of the recipe, hope they turn out well! And the 100% whole wheat is rising in the bowl. Phew! Time for a nap!

More and more I've been using my dough whisk from King Arthur Flour (compliments of my Paney Campers - thank you very much!!!) and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this tool. Any bread maker needs one if you don't already have one. My KA mixer can't handle 9 cups of flour, but this baby makes mixing up my bread a breeze. It is such a simple tool, but does the job and is easy on your arm muscles and I swear the mixing goes faster! I've included a link.

I have one of those, and I wouldn't give it up for anything! It does a beautiful job with quickbread, too, since it's hard to overbeat with it.

Instead of having a big party, I asked DH to take me to the KA flagship store in Norwich, VT for my 50th. I had a ball getting to see "in person" all the things I'd been interested in from their catalogues.

I asked the salespeople there if there was one item I shouldn't leave the store without buying. They pointed me toward those whisks. I bought 2 - one long & one short-handled. Love them! They are perfect for muffins, quickbreads and sticky doughs.

I hadn't been bitten by the yeast baking bug when I went (4 yrs. ago.) I think it's time for another field trip!

I agree, Amck!

Woo hoo! The pepperoni rolls turned out great! And they rose enough to allow me to charge $1 each -- I was worried about that. Was going to take a pic....but, of course, the batteries are dead....again.

Here is a link to the recipe. I made it as written, but I used Jack cheese instead of mozzarella and put pepper jack in 3 rolls per request of my friend's hubby at the market. I cubed the cheese instead of shredding it, and I used 1 t. Penzey's Sandwich Sprinkle in the dough instead of the fresh garlic. These are dyno-mite!

Teresa, I'm so glad that you put the GC to such a good tool. I got that whisk recently and really like it.

Those pepperoni rolls are to die for. Beau loves pepperoni rolls (from the mall food court), so I am certainly motivated to make them. Thanks for the recipe.

You've been one busy gal this afternoon. How much longer is the farmer's market open? Our last day was three weeks ago. I must admit I am enjoying not baking for 12 hours straight! I did get up at 5am today to make sticky buns for a customer.

The pepperoni rolls look sinful. I'm looking for veggie pepperoni!

I'll have to try the dough whisk.

Terrific Teresa, and I hope you come home without a crumb. Speaking of the dough whisk...several years ago my daughter lived in Spartanburg and there was a King Arthur cooking school, (you only got to watch) in Greenvile SC that we went to. I won one of those whisks and ashamed to say I don't think I've ever used it. The sad thing about the demos at the school was the fact that every thing they demonstrated was trashed and never baked. I would gladly have taken it all...unbaked! I'm going to get that sucker out and use it!

I always look for your report on Saturday so I'll be anxious to hear how it goes tomorrow. I am so happy for your success.

Wow, Teresa! I am exhausted just reading about all your baking! Hope you make a big wad of money tomorrow!

Those Pepperoni Rolls look fabulous, I've saved the recipe to try soon! Thanks!

Wow beautiful rolls! I am drooling!

I have read about the whisk but have never tried one. Wonder if I can get it in Canada.

It all sounds great Teresa. I hope the sun is shining on you at the market this morning and that you sell out.

I think of Paney Camp a lot and what we all learned and did together.

RE: Almost done!

Today's market did not have the traffic that I hoped for on a chilly, sunny Saturday. I had three loaves of bread and about half the pepperoni rolls left over -- plus, my face got sunburned even with a hat, scarf, and plush coat covering most of me!

I've about decided not to do anymore sweet rolls or items like the pepperoni rolls. They just don't sell as well for me. I need to make more 100% whole wheat loaves as I always sell out of those quick and I sold out of the Multigrain loaves too. Those are made with Bob's Red Mill 10-grain cereal.

As I had a vacation day yesterday, I was able to bake in a more leisurely fashion, which was nice. I've got next Friday off too. If I don't get orders by phone, I will not be making bread and going to the market after next Saturday. People come to get fresh produce, fresh eggs, and the breads and desserts. I don't think they will linger at the market when it gets cold and gray. We all can see that the traffic has dropped off quite a bit.

There's always next market season!

RE: Almost done!

Absolutely, Teresa, and you will have at least a part of a season under your belt. Hopefully enough of your customers will continue to get in touch with you through the next months. I personally, think you've done great and I do admire you.

Happy holiday baking!
