When you are retired it's hard to remember that it's even Friday but none the less Fridays are special!

We have been at the cottage so much lately that it's good to be back in the city for a bit. Heaven knows there is enough work to do here!

Tonight we are off to a local pub for dinner with some friends. Haven't tried this place before but have been told it's very authentic...whatever that means!

Tomorrow I'm canning my sauerkraut, making some cranberry mustard and dealing with some vintage treasures that I found while defrosting the big freezer yesterday. Looks like some soups and stocks in the making.

Sunday we will either paint the downstairs kitchen or deal with the leaves, weather will dictate.

Have fun everyone and stay safe.

Sharon you're so right about Fridays always being special even after retirement. And Mondays seem to be an uphill ride although they're really the same as Fridays LOL.

I have made up my mind to do some more gardening, plant some more herbs in my patio pots and make or buy a couple new hanging flower baskets. It will be rose pruning time next month so I won't do anything there, but I have some old compost and manure that could be spread around the garden now in preparation for planting some new things.

Your cranberry mustard sounds really interesting!
Let us know what you had for your pub dinner.

My friend Anne is back here from England for a short visit so I'm looking forward to some more of our island excursions in the coming weeks.

Happy weekend everyone!

Good luck to the team, Shelley!

Sharon & Sharon - I can only imagine what it is like for all the days to run together LOL! I still have a few years to find out. Hope you both enjoy the weekend whether it is gardening or something else.

I am just back from metalsmithing class - got my mid-term review and all is well. Tonight we are headed out to our local fav pub also - they are having a customer appreciation party so that should be fun. Tomorrow is the first Swim Meet of the fall/winter session, both my boys are swimming but I do not know which races yet. Sunday is off to Lowe's to look at closet doors, then an afternoon of football.

Hope everyone is safe and sound and has a great weekend!

Thank goodness it is friday! Its been a hectic week. I'm hoping to get some canning done (definitely apple pie jam and maybe habanero gold jam.) I'm also hoping to get some baking (cookies) done. Other than that, no plans.

Tonight I'm going to be making pork chops, corn and acorn squash for dinner. I'm looking forward to it.

We're back in college hockey season again. Seems I was just posting about the playoffs from last year... Big game tonight - UNH v Boston College. We have a new fan this year. My 7-month old granddaughter sports her tiny UNH jersey and comes along w/ DD & SIL. We got a call during a recent game from a family member reporting that ESPN had their camera set on her between periods and the commentators were remarking how cute she was. Luckily, we had TiVO'd the game. Can't tell you how many times we have replayed that section, LOL!!

Made some fish chowder and baked a fresh loaf of bread to fortify ourselves before the game.

Hope you all have a safe & enjoyable weekend!

I am baby sitting my nephew this weekend and taking him to the Tulsa Zoo tomorrow. They are introducing new giraffes Saturday so it should be fun. Our weather is supposed to be gorgeous (up to 80) and I am sure there will be lots of people there so I will save my toasting for tomorrow night after running all day after a 2 year old. (what do you think? Tequila, Rum and Coke, Jack, maybe all three):)

Have a wonderful and safe weekend everyone!

Happy Friday! Very glad to see this week come to a close!

Car is in the shop, the dealer offered to pay half to get the tranny rebuilt plus has a mechanic that is much cheaper than mine. And they also gave me a loaner. So I am okay with this.

I have a big pot of chili on the stove. The weather was beautiful today and should hold for the weekend! YAY

Tomorrow going to the neighbors for a BBQ and bonfire. Not sure what Sunday will bring, yet.

Clink!
