Rum Raisin Galette

I have some frozen pastry dough and am planning on making a galette for friends next Tuesday. Atop the pasty I plan on a layer of fig preserves, some raisins (probably soaked in rum, though I may go through my liquor cabinet and change my mind) and I want to top with a sliced fruit. I can't decide between sliced apples or pears. Also not sure if I should top with nuts or serve toasted nuts on the side to top yourself. Any suggestions? I never use figs so not sure what would be more complimentary.
