Best seasoning for X is...

I'm always surprised how a little dose of herb or spice can turn a plain dish into delish. I learned that when I first started using Pierre Franey's recipes.

To me, there are certain must haves....nutmeg is great on greens or rutabagas...tarragon and butter are terrific on yellow squash...our family can't eat stuffed cabbage without dill. I always sprinkle some thyme on green beans. And we love chopped chives in scrambled eggs. Montreal seasoning is perfect for grilled steaks as is Old Bay for fish.

What are some of your favorite herb/spice combos with food?
