Well I don't have anything to share as our thanksgiving was last month, but I just want to say how unique your plates are, and how special that they have such meaning. Hope you have a speedy recovery, and enjoy your thanksgiving!

My table won't be pretty. I dont have enough dishes to go around if I use the good stuff. So we're using hard plastic plates from Costco. They're ok looking, white with a silver stripe around the edge.

Like Shaun I'm using the stuff from Costco. Our guests keep Kosher so this meets their requirements. I still love to set a beautiful table so this is how I set it up: The martini glasses and hurricanes will be filled with cranberries, placecards are going in the pine-cones and the napkins will be tied with raffia. BTW, the silverware is plasic from Costco too LOL

Here is mine. Our get together isn't until Saturday so that son (a nurse) could work Thursday and get double time. They need the money.

Natesgramma, I've never seen anything like those dishes, those are very unique and beautiful.

Sherry, your dishes remind me of some glasses my mother had when I was small. They were tall, thin, frosted and had pictures of pheasants, fish and deer. I wonder what happened to those? Your table is beautiful, BTW.

My dishes aren't as unique as Sherry's or Natesgramma's, but my table IS set. Here it was today, before I "laid the table".

We don't set the table here..it's hard enough to get the food down and everyone eat..LOL I've never entertained "formally"..it's always buffet or family style too..
I don't even have enough "pretties" to do up a table..

Grace your table is beautiful and I think the fruit is a wonderful touch. In Canada Thanksgiving is all about giving thanks for the harvest so the fruit is perfect!

Not the whole table, but I did want to post the flower centerpiece from the table. My friend Carolyn is a landscape architect, Rose specialist, and author (her most curret book is R is for Rose) brought it. The fragrance of roses almost outdid the fragrance of turkey!

Kathleen, I have got to ask... when you sit down to eat, what do you do with all the "stuff"? I have tried to use dried or artificial plants on the table (not as successfully as you have, but along those lines) and when it comes time to put food on the table, I end up with an armload full of stuff that I then am frantically trying to stash somehwere out of the way while we eat. Also, I am guessing that you do all the plating in the kitchen... is that correct?

I would love to be able to set a beaautiful table like that, but I always seem to have the pretty stuff in the way and I would love some advice!

Another question I had was how do you eat that pear salad? It looks so beautiful, I would hate to mess it up! LOL

Gorgeous tables all! But those roses just knock me out!

You just slice the pear salad on the plate and eat it. Not messy at all..
Lisa, the little pumpkins come from a chain of stores we have on the East coast...very reasonable..I love the place!

Alexa, that table was just for 4..and I plated the soup in the kitchen, and removed the wreaths...The rest was passed, and there is a counter right in back of the table (that is my kitchen table) so after it gets passed the platter can go right on the counter...

I am thinking the pheasant salt and peppers I found at the WMSonoma outlet would be perfect for Sherry's beautiful pheasant plates! If only I had known...they were such a deal! If I ever see them again, I will get them...you never know what they will have in the outlet...

Kathleen, I could almost kill for those individual pumpkins! I've never seen anything like them.

We ate at my DD's and I made no photos.

Loves2..I got a few last year at Christmas Tree Shops, here on the East coast. They had them again this year, so I got more. Everyone was asking for them, so I went back, and they were all gone.
I hope they have them next year again, I have a list!
They do not do internet orders, but they have a website..

I had two seperate tables this year. My dining room table and my kitchen table (our house is open so this worked well with no one feeling left out). No pictures to share, but I thought it looked very pretty. I bought new Autumn type plates and Sage green goblets, new cloth napkins, the cutest turkey napkin holders, turkey salt & pepper shakers, etc. Ivory table cloths, candles in hurricane lamps with acorns and nuts. Centerpieces were very realistic Autumn leaves that I encircled around wooden bread bowls (with the candles on each side).

I was so rushed for time that I didn't have time to take pics. Everyone's table looks beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for all your lovely pix. I used to love doing Thanksgiving tables. I haven't made Thanksgiving since my so went off to college in MN 17 years ago! I just make pies for oyer people's feasts.

Actually i used to love doing Xmas tables too. But now we go to my sisters because she's has the 2 girls, and all the presents. I miss those feasts. I still do some holiday tables for dinner guests just not the actual big roast event.

Those turkey cupcakes are adorable Annie Will have to remember that for next year with the girls.

Actually, ALL the tables here were gorgeous. And I would LOVE pheasant salt and pepper shakers. You probably couldn't see, but the silverware I had was Reed & Barton pheasants. So cute, and I got them so cheap.

Natesgramma, your plates are lovely. If they wre wallpaper or fabric, they would be toille. I absolutely love toille. They look perfect for thanksgiving.

Sherry, the pear salad came from Nov Better Homes and Gardens...greens, red onion, nuts feta cheese, I used raspberry vinegar dressing, and drizzle honey over the top..

And I def will get those sand p shakers if they have them again at WmSonoma outlet, so perfect for your table!
