Pecan pie failure

Making my first pecan pies for our Thanksgiving (on Sunday). The recipe called for 2 cups of chopped pecans and I had a 16 oz. bag so I just threw the whole thing in. I ended up with a pie that was one big solid gloppy piece of chopped pecans with no visible custard filling. So much for 'a pint is a pound the world around'. There are at least 6/7 cups of pieces in a one pound bag of chopped pecans!!!! That was an expensive failure. So the second pie is in the oven today.

Now I need suggestions for what to do with the first pie? Maybe a topping on something or other?
