Can I use my aluminum pot for chili??

Help cooking forum cooks!!

My daughter informed me that she needs 30 (or more) servings of chili for a community dinner she is working for. The largest pot I have is a 14 quart Maganalite Aluminum stock pot. Can I make chili in it successfully just this once or should I make it in my two or three smaller pots that aren't aluminum? I have read on line that some do use their maganalites for chili...I just don't know what to think. I know I could, but will the flavor be affected?

Hmm....Probably won't hurt the pan nor the chili....and the pan will come out nice and bright...
But I would avoid it ( notice I didn't say WOULDN'T use).
Do you have an enamel roaster? That would work....brown the meat and onions in the magnalite and then add the tomatoes to the roaster.

For years (before the world said that aluminum was bad with acid foods) I made all my chili and other like-foods in my Club Aluminum Dutch Oven. It's all I had. I didn't have any problems with my food tasting weird or making us sick. Having said this -- I never left food sit in it either, I always quickly stored the food in Tupperware. (Is that now a no-no too?)
