Are brussel sprouts an iffy holiday side dish?

As I mentioned in another post, for our extended family Thanksgiving get-together, I'm tired of making roasted veggies.

So I'm taking a marinated beet salad, and would like to take one more side dish. I was thinking roasted Brussels sprouts with maybe some balsamic vinegar, but I'm thinking that maybe a lot of people don't like them? I only ate them once, and they were bitter. I saw a recipe for them with toasted almonds and craisins, which sounded good. Do you think enough people might like them, to even mess with them?
I'm also thinking of roasted caulilfower instead, maybe.
Any input on which might be better accepted?
Thanks.
