Log in problems...

OK, every time I submit a post, I have to log in again and I start getting those blasted pop up ads.

I'm giving up for the night, maybe they'll fix it by tomorrow?

I did bake some biscotti and some pecan sandies, tomorrow is the last day before my boss and dear friend retires. Sigh. I'm sad and I have a feeling that her replacement isn't going to be as easy to work for. Hopefully I'm wrong...

Did I tell you that I have a crystal ball?

I see your new boss is a very easy going and pleasant person.

Are you sure that you are not having a comnputer problem?

I have no problem logging in.

Well if you call my wife and tell her what you need. I will spend the next 4 weekends in 115 temps redoing your backyard. I will not charge anything to do this, in fact I will spend $400 of my own money to make sure you get everthing you want but can not afford. If this sounds like a good deal then give her a call. No, but oh my...It certainly looks like you are having problems. If you are still having problems, and are able to, use the Contact Us link at the bottom of any page. Copy and paste the URL of this post in the email to GW, so they can 'see' the problem you are having. I've been using my iPad that I got for Christmas. I too had a problem logging in. I found that a if I go to the Garden Web main page and log in there, instead of trying to log in at the bottom of this board, then it works for me. I don't think it seemed apparent at first that I was logged in from the main page, but then when I clicked on the link to this board and scrolled to the bottom, it showed that I was logged in. Does that make sense? I know it can be frustrating! Hope you can get it worked out.

According to Tamara, my only option is to remove my cookies and restart and see if that fixes my problem. It's the "see if" that makes me pause. I also don't understand why my cookies would be the problem when others here are having the same auto log-out problem each time they leave GW and our problems seemingly began at the same time. I pointed out to Tamara that we are using different browsers and systems but she didn't address that in her response to me - at least it doesn't seem that she did. Instead she wrote, "Nearly all websites will set cookies when users login. You may not like them, but they do serve a purpose -- part of which is that you don't need to re-login each visit. Sometimes they get stuck, sometimes your browser does not reset them as necessary. While browsers are generic in nature, they become very personalized based on your use and what might work for one, may not work for another." Could it be that our different browsers became personalized at the same time? Blast those computer gremlins! I knew they were up to no good and now it seems that they've banded together to cause more havoc! ;-) Oh, she also said that the Vibrant Opt-out problems that occurred in the beginning have been fixed and I shouldn't worry about losing this option. I'd have more confidence in that if someone hadn't just posted that the opt-out feature stopped working for them and they're getting the mean greenies again. Has anyone tried to remove cookies and start again? Any luck?

Hahaaa teresa!

Annie, just a quick thought. Some anti-virus programs scheduled scans will remove cookies (not the eating kind) and you will have to log in your password/user id again.

For an hour or two earlier tonight I had trouble getting into any GW forum. It's OK now.

No log in problems, but I just "posted" to a thread and puff! The whole thread was gone! I closed out of my browser and restarted. It is definitely not there anymore - not only the post but the thread.

Hope you have better luck Annie. Good luck with your new boss.

All is okay here, hope your new boss is okay too. Oh dear, what if he/she is a CF poster.

Nope, not a CF poster, probably not even a lurker. Think some good thoughts, I'm sad. Chrystal has been a dear friend and is the reason I met Elery and I'll miss her.

That's too bad, Annie. I have a co-worker that will be leaving next summer, and I'm not looking forward to that, because I enjoy her company. Now, there's a few others I wish were leaving, lol!

I had the same problem the other day. I had to re-log in to submit a post. It only happened once. I had forgotten about it till I saw this thread.

I think you are right. The Fillies thread has been sanitized and the Fed Up thread seems to have disappeared.
