Cinnamon Swirl Cream Cheese w/Sour Cream Angel Food Cake
Comments (8)If we can have a sour cream angel cake, why not sour cream & *chocolate* angel cake? Hmm... now that I think of it, that does sound good with the cinnamon swirl. Build it up as with a torte, putting luscious cherries between the layers. Pidge - one of the best things about cooking in VR is that there are no calories, therefore, no weight gain. Thank goodness....See MoreWhat would you do with fat-free cream cheese?
Comments (17)We can't get the fat free here, just the regular and "light" which is the neufchatel cheese. I prefer the light. My mom bought me a container of fat free from the US, and it was HORRIBLE. It was too sweet and it made me gag, it had a strong "fake sour cream" taste - like the sour cream part of the powder they put on sour cream and onion flavoured potato chips. Which of course make me gag too LOL. I can't eat a lot of cheese flavoured snack foods because of that creamy powder taste....See MoreI use my cream cheese for....
Comments (27)Here is a no fat, no calorie treat I make (ok, not really, but you can pretend it is. LOL): Cut the crust off pieces of really fresh, soft bread. I usually use white. Spread with softened cream cheese and roll up jelly roll fashion. Cut into 4-5 pinwheels. Dip the pinwheels into butter, then into a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 350 for 8-12 minutes, depending on how browned you want them. Longer for crispy...which is what I like. I love these things. I used to make them for my boys when they were little. I still make them on occasion as a "memory jolt". I also sometimes add chocolate chips. (Using the new non-stick foil works really well with these...and they do not store well. You will have to eat them all at one sitting.)...See MoreBlueberry Cream Cheese Pie recipe for Phyllis_MN
Comments (10)Has anyone ever made this with Splenda? I love sugar (and blueberries! and cream cheese!), but can't eat that much (I limit myself to less than 15 grams per meal, it's a digestion issue, not a diabetes issue). Based on my quick calculations, assuming 8 servings per pie, just the white sugar is 183 calories and 47 grams of sugar per slice. For comparison, when I make a deep dish apple pie I use 3/4-1 cup sugar. So, has anyone used Splenda or made this with less sugar?...See Moremaureen_me
