house guest etiquette

In a couple of weeks, our family is going to the coast for five days as guests of my sister and brother-in-law. From the experience last year at their other vacation home, there may not be a breakfast time, but rather we may go out for "brunch." I don't do well waiting until 11:00 a.m. to have something to eat to "break the fast." I'm used to getting up early and having some protein by 7 or 8 o'clock. My blood sugar level drops and I start to feel nauseous if I don't.

I'm thinking about taking some homemade breads and maybe some cheese so I can make cheese toast and fix a pot of coffee. Of course, I would share this with any other early risers. I might make a coffeecake also or ask my mom to make one so there would be something else to offer.

Is this tacky of me? What do you do in this circumstance? Our hosts are such generous people and I don't want to offend them. Opinions are welcome!
