isnt it fun! I found some eggs and hid them beneath a conch shell. The grandson would be here any minute and I wanted him to find them. We played in the garden and he lifted the conch and squealed. Carefully he picked up the tiny egg and began to talk to it.He carried it around the yard while he walked and all of a sudden he shrieked. The baby popped out! What??? I grabbed his tiny had and sure enough their was the baby! perfect timingfor him to see this miracle! Maybe the warmth of his hand or maybe he just willed it out! Here he is in a jar on my couch next to his deflated egg. We later placed him back outside to find his family. I hope grandmas house is the funnest!

Hi All, It was snowing on my way home from work today: ( Spring really in at a stand still. I think we are going to jump straight into summer, lol. Laura, I had to work on Easter. I kept joking that we were scheduled to work because management decided we were the heathens. I did have a nice Good Friday though. I went to the Broadway Market with my sister-in-law and her kids. It is an old Polish tradition to go there for foods like homemade candy and baked goods, see the easter bunny, buy Polish pottery and so on. It was packed as it always is pre-Easter. It is is a strange place because the whole neighborhood is now a ghetto, but the Broadway Market is still there. I could hardly carry out all the stuff I bought! I did buy two pretty Easter planters for my relatives that were in the hospital and I stopped to see them on the way home. Maryanne, I sure hope your testing went good. I've never had to do that for a job. Though this one I did have to do a drug test. Beth, Glad to hear most of the flowers survived. The winter aconites you sent me are still blooming! They are very cheery looking. They multiply don't they? Susan, I'm glad you are getting your family into shape. I know how it is. I'm afraid to leave Gary home alone for more than 2 days, lol. I'm sure hoping your brother will be ok. My cousin had to have her brain operated on for tumors about 2 years ago now, and she is doing good, so it is possible : ) Susann, I've not bought from them. It takes a long time (or at least mine did) for A. tomentosa to 'volunteer' as my mother-in-law used to say. If you don't want the volunteers, you can either mow over them or pull them up (as Mary suggested), cut them and feed them to your pipevine swallowtail caterpillars elsewhere (I do this), or you can dig them up and baby them in a pot until they get settled, then, either give them to friends or plant them somewhere else in your own garden. My first PVS butterflies from this year's crop emerged this morning, both females. These came from caterpillars I got from Rick in Alabama. It's so windy, I hate to release them today, and tomorrow we're supposed to have big rain, so I'm trying to decide when to release them, a good problem! :) Sherry

Great photo! I love hummingbird moths! The host bushes I had for hummingbird moths died, so I'm looking to replace them. The fogging is ridiculous. It only kills mosquitoes in flight, and that's IF it reaches them. I know for a fact that the fog coming out of that truck only reached about 25' from the street into the yards, so the mosquitoes living in the back yards were fine. My evidence was that any host plant within 25' of the street would kill any caterpillars that hatched. Host plants in the back yard were fine. They also warned us to not have pets, children and the elderly out during the evening on the night they sprayed.
