Two fennel bulbs and fronds

I have two fennel bulbs in the fridge from my CSA package and I'm having trouble coming up with an idea on how to use them. I should like fennel because I like licorice/anise/fennel seed flavor, but my attempts at using the bulbs in the past have been less than spectacular.

Any good fennel bulb recipes?

Unlike supermarket fennel bulbs, these have a generous helping of fronds so I'd appreciate ideas on using those instead of tossing them.

I leave on a two week business trip on Sunday so I need to do something with these before then.

I'm braising some beef short ribs tonight with mushrooms from the farmers market so any way to use them in that meal would be a bonus.
