Cinn Rolls Too Long to Rise

Hey all. New baker here. Well, been learning to bake (solo) for a few months now.

I tried out Pioneer Woman's Cinnamon Rolls. I must say... I never knew a cinnamon roll could melt in your mouth. They really are good.

However, no matter what, the rise time is very very long for and I don't know why. I don't have rise problems in any of my other recipes such as pita or sandwich (though quality is not good, yet.)

The difference with Pioneer woman's recipe is the addition of warm (or scalded?) milk in the beginning. Is this retarding the yeast? Or am I doing "just wrong" to retard yeast growth?

They're good as they are, so if I should not change it, I won't. I'd sure like to reduce the rise time. Presently it takes about eleven hours.
