Freezing potato leek soup, will I regret?

BF is coming for a visit in a week and I promised I would make his favorite soup, potato leek. Problem is, I have some baby yukon gold potatoes that had a run in with a rotten one in the bag and really need to be peeled and eaten ASAP or they just won't make it. I already roasted about 1/3 of them and threw out the worst offenders. So I would like to peel them and make the soup now and then freeze it for next week. Has anyone here made and frozen potato leek soup and then thawed it out with good results? I'm thinking I will just do it with chicken broth and the leeks and potatoes, maybe some bacon, and then thaw the soup and add fresh cream or sour cream when I reheat. Also some recipes call for thickening the broth with flour, will that affect the heating part? Anyone have a T&T recipe for freezing. One that you have actually frozen? Advice? Thanks!
