Happy Day! :-)

Hi everyone,

Some awesome cooking news for you all! Friday, I saw a video on YouTube from these people I watch who showcase their three Siberian Huskies and they also show some of their many misadventures in their lives such as camping and traveling to different areas and whatnot. On Fridays, their videos are call Fan Friday, where they answer questions and show what they got in the mail from fans for that week. I sent them recipes and a short letter and it was the first piece of mail that they showed in the video! I sent about six recipes if I remember correctly. I sent them my recipes for: Lemonade, Alabama BBQ Ribs, Pink Lady Cake, Express Fruit Cobbler, Mandarin Orange Cake, and Banana Butter Cake (that is one that I just stumbled across in my one cookbook that sounded yummy, but I've never made it, yet lol). I am one happy camper :-).

Here is the video. They start showing the fan mail at around the 4:30 mark. Enjoy!

Brad, that must have been so much fun for you. Did you know they were going to mention your recipes or was it a surprise...

Indeed. Give Wild Horses a chance to settle in. I found it to increase well. Porcelain Ruffles is lovely. It was a gift plant on the very first regional I attended. Good memories. And, I still have it, lol. Your Joan Derifield looks awfully purple to me. I hesitate to say as perhaps the colors are off on my monitor. Robert Lee Batt is a purple Hanson and I often thought it was kinda like Joan Derifield in a different color. That said, I'm having some unusual colors in some of mine this year, so who knows? Treasure of the Southwest started out almost unrecognizable, but later blooms seem to be getting closer to the color I remember (for years, lol). So many things can affect color. Anyway, enjoyed your pictures.

In addition to Oh Happy Day [I think about Secretariat as that song played throughout the movie] I got Vogue Anniversary, Caribbean Breeze, Bordeaux and Tangerine Skies - already have a small one from Roses Unlimited but JP's was priced at $11 and change - couldn't resist!! All of them look really healthy green leaves, green canes. I think when I repot them in the good soil I just got brought in they will take off. We generally have good weather here even through December so they should get good growth in pots over the winter and be ready to set out in spring. They do look like they have been grown in greenhouses, so shouldn't be stuck out in cold temps. Fun to get roses looking so good this time of year, these are roses looking like what I would expect to get in spring. Will snap a photo when I get time - having big Halloween party this weekend so will do it after the weekend is over. Happy Halloween, Ya'll! Judith

LOL, we are always saying our cats "get a wild hair" when they go tearing around the house. :) I sent DH off to his family gathering yesterday and had a nice, quiet day by myself! I did a few chores, but mostly read a book and worked on a sweater I'm knitting. It was very nice. I'm working today, but no shopping for me, either. My goal between T'giving and Christmas is to not go to any stores except the grocery. Donna

Hi pink! Glad you brought this back up. My OHD sat ALL summer. It grew a few leaves but wouldn't bloom. It finally gave me a few flowers in October! When it did bloom they were gorgeous though. I'm hoping it was just taking time to settle in and grow roots. Maybe it will then take off and bloom this spring! I can say the plant was pretty healthy but we'll see how well it winters.

Well, in just a couple of days, over 10,000 people (plus at least 3 Siberian Huskies) internationally have heard your name, and seen your recipes.

You better make sure your recipes are good, or you will have many unhappy customers. LOL!

morz8, I knew that they were going to be on there at some point. I sent them out last Wednesday and was hoping they would be shown in last Friday's video, but I had to wait a while. They just showed the cards and letter laying there. When she said that they were definitely gonna have to try some of them, I was thrilled!
