well, I got them into the freezer before leaving for the airport - now here's hoping my husband actually takes them off the cookie sheets today and bags them!

Gorlax, first is your MG growing indoors? MG's need a lot of sun, and fresh air if growing inside. They're not the easiest of plants to grow in the house w/o extra work. I don't think the ingredients you added to rid gnats harmed your plant since all were natural. And a few exposed roots shouldn't matter either unless more than half were exposed. Normally, I'd suggest repotting the entire plant w/fresh, dry soil, but since your plant is about to bud, if you attept repotting, there's a chance the buds will fall. By chance, are you keeping the soil too wet? Fungus gnats usually appear when air is dry, and soil wet. Allow soil to dry out. Can you place your MG outside a few wks? If possible, choose a semi-shady area gradually moving to more light.. If you haven't outdoor access, set in the sunniest window, keep in a room with good air circulation. Since MG's are usually used as annuals or tender perrenials, they need to be treated the same. Check soil w/finger to see if it's wet or dry. If dry, give a hearty drink..if wet, do not water. MG's cannot live in wet soil..I grow them outside and each do best in poor, unattended soil. Most only get watered when it rains. (except when first sowed) Also, if you decide against repotting, add fresh soil on top to replace that you removed..Good luck, Toni

Roundup is not only absorbed through leaves and green stems, but can also enter a weed through cut stems. It is essential that these stems be freshly cut, however, to facilitate the movement into the plant. Old cuts will not allow the material to move into the plant appreciably. Roundup overspray on bark that is very thin, green or cracked may affect the plant, but thicker woody bark is an effective barrier to Roundup.

Cabinets up to 24" get a single pull. Over that, either an oversized pull or two smaller ones. 27" can go either way, depending on the size and look of your hardware. Edited to say that I do have a single display with a 30" stack of drawers with only a single cup pull in the middle, but I personally prefer my guideline above.
