It seems to me that Teresa is a little messed up. When someone has a birthday, he/she gets birthday presents. Today is Teresa's birthday, I am confused, and she is sending ME a wild rice gift?! What kind of upside down backwards Bizzaro World is she in?

But I am not complaining. To some of you newcomers to this Forum, REAL wild rice, not farmed "wild" rice is a very special treat. Really wonderful stuff that you can't normally find in stores.

Perhaps Teresa can tell you a little more about real wild rice and where she gets hers from.

Thanks Teresa for your never ending generosity, and a very Happy Birthday!

I wish you had Happy Birthdays every day of the year, I would be getting wild rice gifts everyday! LOL

Thanks for all the lovely birthday wishes! I'm having a great day today! Woke up to a laugh-out-loud e-card from San and the day just got better and better from there. You should see my office! Black decorations hanging from the ceiling, dead flowers in a vase, and little gifts every hour on the hour from two of my friends here. Just got back from a delicious lunch out - Italian! Still have banana pudding from this morning's treat - and they keep reminding me that the day is not over yet. My mom called this morning and sang happy birthday to me. Last night I had dinner for my parents and my two sons. My boys take me out very often so I was happy to cook for them. Me....? I'm just happy to be here and to have lived this long. Thank you Dcarch, Sally, Jasdip and bcskye for the birthday wishes.

I had a very fun day at work. I sent out an invitation to about 100 co-workers and friends this morning. It said "I'm 60 today and one day you will be too!"

I don't like cake so I ordered a full sheet pan, giant rice krispy bar! It was 3" thick and way too much for the 70+ people that showed up.

I've never met anyone with an October 1 birthday before. So it came as a real surprise last year when I found out the woman I work for shares my birthday. She went to Philly yesterday and had to miss the party. One of the guys that also works for her made a quick video and sent it to her phone. She was at the airport boarding her flight to come home when she received it.

She particularly like the inscription on the giant bar. I don't know how old Molly is ....I'm thinking early 40's. She had no idea I was 60 however!

Dcarch - you should receive your rice later this week. And then you can entertain us with the many unusual creations you come up with. I have shared many pounds of rice over the years. But I don't think I have ever known anyone who is so creative and who enjoys the rice as much as you do. Happy Birthday to you ......whenever it is!

Thank you Peppi and FOAS!!

My grandmother on my mom's side lived to be 104 years old. I don't think I've saved enough money to live that long!!

And now I am off work today and intend to enjoy a beautiful fall day doing yardwork.

Happy day after your birthday, Teresa. I couldn't tell from the title of the post whether it really was your birthday or not!

Love the RICE Krispies Treat cake. I love those things.

Cool birthday cake. I'm glad you had colleagues to share your day. I don't do birthdays but enjoyed celebrating co-workers birthdays at work.
