No bottom crust apple pie with crumb topping.

I found recipes for deep dish apple pie with crumb topping, but they all had a traditional bottom crust. I have a favorite apple filling recipe I make with 20 ounce apples and I want to use that with no bottom crust (to save calories) and put a crumb recipe on top. How long should I bake and at what temperature? I usually make a 10 inch double crust pie with lots of apples and bake for about 30 -40 minutes. I don't want to burn a crumb top crust but I do want the filling to be thoroughly cooked. Do I bake for a while without a top or precook the filling? If so, how long do I cook with the crumb crust in place?
