My New Thanksgiving Cactus! I am so excited...
Comments (17)Purpleinopp - The flowers do have a pink tint to them, almost a blush. Boothbay - I purchased a pink Thanksgiving Cactus last year and it rebloomed again this year. It surprised me because it was on the kitchen table and did not receive the short daylight hours because the light in the kitchen stays on late at night. However, only part of it bloomed. It was the part that was closest to the window. Next year I will definitely give it the short day treatment to get more blooms. I have heard people who get theirs to bloom twice a year. I did place my true Christmas Cactus in an area where it gets the short daylight hours and it is loaded with buds. I cannot wait until it blooms....See MoreWANTED: I'm so excited my parcel arrived and its a compressor!
Comments (22)Everything is gorgeous and so special! I love supporting local artists, and I espeically love the carving board. I would definitely use it because it seems to practical, and it was meant to be functional art. The same with the napkins, although I would reserve those for specially occasions. I'm a bit confused about the scale of the items because you said the napkins were oversized. How large is the cream pitcher? For some reason, it looks a bit like a water pitcher to me. I love the colors! Lars...See MoreSo excited my other stone arrived today!
Comments (5)Thank you fellow kitchenettes! I do like to experiment with mixing but gosh it's scary when so much money is involved but so far its looking like what I had in my head (yeah I know, spooky). Remodelfla, yes their address is W.P.B although technically it's Riviera Beach but you know how that works. Jorge did have several remnants in his shop when I was there last but I do not recall seeing marble. However, I wasn't really looking that hard because I had already bought my stones from that place up on 10th. Jorge of Argent does not really buy slabs I don't think, although he may have during the building boom. You pick your stone from wherever and his company installs. I can not say enough good as he is also a good man. They charge $30 a sf and you get all the bells and whistles. Here are some pictures. I love how the stone has some of the orange shades that are in the backsplash. I do like artsy cool but in a way I can decorate the rest of the house with a little traditional/contemporary /modern. I'm looking around and the rest of my house is looking not how I want it, it's in a transitional warp but I'm actually sick of spending money. I'm thinking, "Not creamy yellow" for the backsplash grout as I was originally thinking. Maybe warmer and richer, still thinking and taking ideas. (P.S) the backsplash is on opposite side of room. http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af170/jterrilynn/kitchen%20picks/?action=viewät=2ndcounterwithfaucet0003.png" target="_blank"> http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af170/jterrilynn/kitchen%20picks/?action=viewät=counterwithsink.png" target="_blank">...See MoreSo excited to share my sneak peek! Comments (7)Well, buehl and mustb, we have to wait until the hardwood floor is acclimated, then installed, before we can even think about putting in the cabs. Maybe another month before the kitchen is done. I'm hoping before Thanksgiving though, as I want to entertain! They are custom cabs made by Blue River Cabinetry. A small establishment that used to be run by Amishmen but was bought out. Though, from my understanding, they did keep some of the Amish craftsmen....See Moredebrak2008
