What oil do you use, how much, and what type of pan? Hoping someone can really spell it out so maybe I and other newbies can enjoy this delicacy. What is an "egg wash"? I am completely lost. Stuffed blossoms sounds really good. I want to serve them at my gardeners luncheon this month. I recently began having these with some local gardeners. There are about 10 of us. Each one takes her turn having it at her house, and each chooses a theme. The last one was any dish containing herbs. Mine will be Mexican. Maybe I can come up with a Mexican version of stuffed blossoms. Let's discuss....See MoreI've discovered one thing that can stop my gardening...
Comments (13)Congrats Cedarglen! One of my gardening friends here has been terribly sick through her third pregnancy. She's not done much to the garden (and my back is out for the 2nd week in a row) - but I suspect she will cry out to the neighborhood gardeners in a week or two, asking for a few hours of weeding, and mulching the leaves her hubby will rake up. We have a wonderful group of gardeners, and when their house was going to be renovated everyone went with shovels, trucks and pots and dug up the entire garden, potted it up and took it to a guys house for overwintering. Then they brought it back and planted it for her and it has been so beautiful! Do you have any super kind gardener friends you can call on? We do all kinds of this stuff for each other: volunteer for each others garden projects at the school garden or the community or farmers market gardens, clean up and plant our business district, haul mulch or manure etc. It will be tough when you are full of baby, but my (above) girlfriend did some amazing things with her 2nd pregnancy. We were getting the house constantly flooded with water during a heavy rainy season and she come and helped me DIG TRENCHES to carry water away! I couldn't believe it, she was so fantastic....See MoreUsing up large squash and zucchini
Comments (2)Oh yeah, I'll try at least one of those! I freelanced a veggie bake last night; came out pretty well, or so hubby said. I layered tomato, corn, orzo pasta, thinly sliced zucchini and onion, fresh basil, oregano and parsley, breadcrumbs and cheese and baked covered (400°) about 1 hr. Of course, any veggie can be used but my ginormous 'chini worked very well :)...See MoreBoxerpups, I Could Use Help - Art Deco Floor Discovered
Comments (29)Feel free to copy Pinch Me! I showed pix to my friend today, who is my ex-box, who is an architect. He nearly fell off his chair lol. He assured me that it can be cleaned up, and said that it needs to be regrouted, but certainly should be kept by all means. His opinion was just find a solid tile which matches one of those colors to finish off the floor where there is none, and don't worry about it - so big deal it won't be perfect. I agree. It will be part of the character of the room. My BF is all excited to get cracking and try to clean it up now. We're going to just try some liquid Lysol, diluted first (Architect's suggestion), and gently scrub if necessary. We'll see how that goes. As for regrouting, I'll have to have a tile person come in for that, I don't think either of us is equipped for that chore (me for sure - I have two bum knees)....See Moreruthanna_gw
