Beets just came in. Only in small 10lb bags or 20lbs!
The babies in the bag i roasted this morning with whole heads of garlic for a salad.
Looked through Martha's ideas...(her recipe site has improved with a new format)
Made chips and have more in the oven.
I may just keep making chips. I don't 'can' here. But maybe i should. (not this year)
Heading back to the states next week and last year they took my garlic at the border, grrr.

Is there a quick pickle i can fake...i have a 1/2 gallon glass jar...garlic cloves, onion, beet slices in vinegar?
A three day trip...i have never canned and may not for some time. I prefer fresh or dried. Love borsche (sp)
Lived in a Polish neighborhood once.

Found some deep dark rhubarb in the garden. Rhubarb, beet, blueberry Clafoutis? haha
