Halloumi cheese

Halloumi is a "grillable" cheese. Have any of you give it a try? Google can lead me to some recipes, but I'm hoping for some that will come with either recommendations or warnings. Thanks!

Our favorite Greek restaurant just brushes haloumi with olive oil and grills strips of it on wooden skewers until the outside is a light golden brown. They serve the skewers lightly sprinkled with a combination of dried oregano, thyme and mint and serve a lemon wedge on the plate.

I have never made it at home.

This recipe was pretty good, but I think it would be better with feta.

We eat quite a lot of it. It's nice grilled and served with a vinaigrette with a little honey and chopped coriander leaves - cilantro?
You need to eat it quite quickly after grilling or it gets very squeaky on your teeth!

I have never seen it for sale but on the menu of a Greek restaurant.
Can it be mail ordered?

I used to eat this a lot when I lived in England, but don't see it here much. Its a gret meaty chese. I loved it.

We had it when we went to Cypress - my parents took us as a family when I was young and we had it as often as we could. Hmmmmm time to try it again, as Ruthanna describes.

Oh, boy, all I need is another excuse to eat cheese, and another way to prepare it!

I had some kind of cheese flambe at a Mexican restaurant once. It tasted wonderful at once, but it didn't take long for it to be way too rich to eat the whole dish. I don't remember what kind of cheese it was, or if the menu even said.
