Sharon(or anyone) dill pickle question.

My neighbor gifted me with a bunch of cucumbers. They are too large to make baby dills and I really don't think we'd eat pickle spears. Wondering if you have ever used your dill pickle recipe and sliced the cukes?

We would eat pickle slices on hamburgers and such. But looking in my Ball Blue Book all of the recipes that call for sliced (cross-wise) cukes are for sweet style pickles.

Would the texture be allright with sliced cucumbers?
