Happy Birthday, Ann T!

Hope you have a fabulous day - this is the perfect time in B.C. to have a birthday, and so I can imagine that it will be very festive for you. For us south of the border, it is the beginning of Labor Day week-end, and I will be thinking of you as I celebrate with my sister, whose birthday is the day after yours! I think you also just celebrated an anniversary, and so I congratulate you on that as well.

Happy Birthday, Ann T, I'm excited I got to be second after Lars, I'm usually late.

I hope you have a perfectly delicious birthday. I know you usually cook your own birthday dinner, so you can have whatever you want. I'm sure it will be wonderful.

Such beautiful roses from all of you! Carla, bless your heart - thank you! Would you believe I celebrated tonight by bringing home a Polish Pizza (sauerkraut, polish sausage and onions on a pizza) for dinner? LOL! The sun was shining most of today; cold, yes, but not as cold as yesterday's start of -22F!! So, all things considered, 20 above felt downright balmy. BTW, I love the shading on the edges of those pink roses - they're just beautiful! Luanne, those are all good things to have on one's birthday indeed and you don't know just how right on the money you are! I gave my potted roses a shower in the basement this evening and got to enjoy Rosette Delizy and Frances Dubreuil blooms while I tended them - how's that for fulfilling a prophesy of rain and blooming roses? My husband called me at work and sang Happy Birthday to me, and then this evening my oldest and dearest friend called me and sang a birthday song in Polish just like her mother used to sing when we were kids, so I've had music and as gifts those songs couldn't have pleased my heart more. As for the chocolate part, tomorrow night my son and his family join us for a big birthday bash, bringing with them a very special chocolate cake from a bakery famous in southern Michigan. I haven't had a Sanders' fudge bumpy cake in at least 20 years, so I am practically drooling at the thought. My DH, both sons and I *all* have our birthdays within this one week, so we celebrate with a single party that lasts all weekend. Thank you so much for Evelyn, a rose I've been considering adding to my gardens for a while now. She has such a pretty petticoat. :-) And dear Sue, thank you for those special wishes. I hope indeed that the year ahead is easy on my heart. DH is doing well right now so I certainly am counting those blessings. Thank you,for the wonderful photos and kind wishes. This year hasn't been the best for our part of the country. Carla's photo is from our neighbor's field and he hasn't brought his horses back from Wyoming because the grass just didn't grow here in our drought and hay is hard to come by and expensive. Right now there are only four horses in that 25 acre grazing area. I've been at the library reading mites and viruses and other things rosey. But reading them quickly and downloading smoothly. And one Maggie (still in a pot in a somewhat protected spot) has a bud trying to open, even with her frost stiffened petals. Life, all in all, is good. Ann

Between the two crabs there was 5.5 pounds. Steamed and dipped in garlic butter. And other than the wine we drank, there were no sides. Your ideal dinner is analogous to my guys' favorite dinner. I'm quite sure you aren't going out and Moe ain't cooking !

How long has it been for us on the forum? 13 years , maybe 14 years....? It must have been at least 10 years ago that you and Moe had dinner at our place.

You have been such a integral part of the CF all these year....

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes.

Had a girl's day in Victoria. Barb and I had a nice lunch and did a little shopping. And then Moe and I had dinner with Barb and Clif'. Clif cooked. Grilled steaks on his new grill. Good food, good wine and good friends.
