May I tell you that out of that beautiful presentation, I would literally inhale those green beans? Serious. Okay, I could probably hit the pie pretty hard too ~ good times.

We've been enjoying a one-hour skillet focaccia (B+ -- good/not an all day event/fills in the cracks). I'll have to look up the no-knead Italian bread on King Arthur -- with bruschetta, would be an exceptional win-win.

I had to look up pappardelle! everything looks and sounds great. I will definitely try making pappardelle fairly soon, but gluten-free, since my best foodie friend finally learned that he's allergic to wheat! :p

Yes it was really good to see Sherry again, her life is so busy that we don't get to see each other as often as we'd like, even though we're only 4 hours apart.

Cathy PA, the beans were the best part of the meal, I thought, they were fresh and good. The bread was good, full of cheese and garlic, the website gives an option of cutting it into bread sticks and oven toasting it, I think that might be even better.

Party, Dad and I had just started working on spoons when he passed away. Three currently exist, and that was the third (and best) one. It's made of maple and should last me forever, then my grandkids can fight over it later.

Not to sidetrack, Annie, but just wanted to let you know I'm off to make bruschetta to go with the no knead italian! If this looks a bit different than yours, it is because I made this bread WRONG at every step (missed putting in garlic until after rise, two rises, forgot cheese, used shredded, etc, etc, etc,) So, I'm dubbing this the "forgiving" bread because it's still a winner!

Your post with wonderful food and specials friends was a inspiration this morning.

Glad I get to keep up with some of the CF old timers on FB. Especially Elery. ;)

I am home from vacation! It was wonderful, and the food and company along the way was the best. Annie and Elery were so gracious to feed us and everything she cooked was awesome. It was nice, after about a year of not feeling well enough to do most anything, to visit with good friends.
Then we got to visit Nancy and Kim, and again were treated to a fabulous meal. We spent a lot of time eating and yakking and catching up. There is nothing nicer than getting together with good forum friends...especially those who cook as well as Nancy and Annie, LOL. Thank you ladies. (And Elery)

I love this and I miss you all! For some reason I thought that as I got older and the kids moved out I would have more time to travel and see my CF friends...Well, that didn't happen. ;-)

Sherry, I was so glad to see you and Roger again, it had just been too long. We have to get together more often.

RR, I know what you mean, it seems like I'm busier now than I ever was. I keep saying it's going to slow down, but it just never does....
