Is there a lemon law for refrigerators?
Comments (18)I have a 2 & 1/2 year old Samsung refrigerator. Did not even install icemaker. It Stopped cooling in refrigerator & accumulating ice on walls. Called Samsung. . First said would find Samsung appliance repair in my area. Then Called back week later to tell me later had no repair iin area.. & said would refund if I sent in purchase order. Again another 2 weeks call to say could & would not do this as out of warranty. Continued to send me from one person to another in hopes of finding a suitable answer. ... meanwhile needed to get another fridge for my tenant. I had read blog on many other complaints of Samsung refrigeraters... got so mad at samsung after many calls to tech.. that I ordered another Kenmore frige. Had delivered up in the hills. Now I have the old refrigerator that I am trying to sell to someone who might be able to repair.. now it is snowing & I have to do something with this lemon.... of a refrigerator. .....See MoreOkay for overnight w/o refrigeration?
Comments (8)I think Trixie's suggestion is a good one. The reason that USDA recommendations are not to exceed 2 hours w/o refrigeration is that trace amounts of mold and bacteria can or may begin to develop after that time. The majority of folks can handle this with no problem, but those with compromised immune systems, pregnant women, young children and the elderly may have issues. As you can't be certain who will be purchasing your cupcakes, I'd err on the side of caution....See MoreLemon Bar recipe that isn't so fragile
Comments (13)This recipe is from "The Gluten-Free Almond Flour Cookbook" by Elana Amsterdam and is quite a bit thinner than traditional Lemon Bar recipes, and not so delicate because you use almond flour instead of all-purpose wheat flour for the base. LEMON BARS Crust: [Grainlady Note: I use almond flour from Honeyville Grain and purchase it in a 5# bag, OR I make soaked almonds (overnight in lightly-salted water), dehydrate them until crispy and mill them in my Wonder Mill Jr. Deluxe or Magic Bullet. You could also use Bob's Red Mill almond flour, but it's not as fine for baking as Honeyville Grain's almond flour.] 1-1/2 c. blanched almond flour 1/2 t. sea salt 2 T. grapeseed oil (I use coconut oil.) 1 T. agave nectar (honey would also work) 1 T. vanilla extract Topping: 1/4 c. grapeseed oil (coconut oil) 1/4 c. agave nectar (or honey) 3 large eggs 1/2 c. freshly squeezed lemon juice Preheat the oven to 350-degrees F. Grease an 8-inch square baking dish with grapeseed oil and dust with almond flour. To make the crust, combine the almond flour and salt in a large bowl. In a medium bowl, whisk together the grapeseed oil, agave nectar, and vanilla extract. Stir the wet ingredients into the almond flour mixture until thoroughly combined. Press the dough into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 15-17 minutes, until lightly golden. While the crust bakes, prepare the topping. In a blender, combine the grapeseed oil, agave nectar, eggs, and lemon juice. Process on high until smooth. Remove the crust from the oven. Pour the topping evenly over the hot crust. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until the topping is golden. Let cool in the baking dish for 30-minutes, then refrigerate for 2 hours to set. Cut into bars and serve. -Grainlady...See Morefavorite lemon bar recipes?
Comments (21)I'm sorry they didn't fulfill your cookie bar dreams. Maybe these will (I couldn't find the recipe the other day): White Chip Lemon Bars Cookie type: bar This is another favorite from Hersheys Best Loved Recipes, 2000. These cookies are yummy, tart and sweet all at the same time. This recipe makes 36 bars. Ingredients 1 ¼ cups flour 1 cup sugar 1/3 cup butter, softened ¾ cup white chocolate chips 2 eggs ¼ cup lemon juice 2 teas grated lemon peel powdered sugar Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Stir together 1 cup flour and ¼ cup sugar in a medium bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press mixture into the bottom of a 9 inch square baking pan. Bake 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and sprinkle white chocolate chips over crust. Stir together eggs, lemon juice, lemon peel, remaining ¼ cup flour and remaining ¾ cup sugar in a medium bowl. Carefully pour over chips and crust. Bake 25 minutes or until set. Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut into bars....See Morefearlessem
